Ambleside Sheepskins/Bark Mill is an established business with a history of over thirty years trading independently in the Sheepskin/Leather sector. Owned and run by Tom Ramsbottom & Rickie Clark, the company is based in the small village of Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District. The business is run from a 16th century former Bark Mill which was at the centre of Ambleside’s industrial past.
Ambleside Sheepskins continues to develop, aiming to reward customer loyalty by offering one of the best choices of natural products such as Cowhide and Sheepskin Rugs with over 800 in stock. We also sell Sheepskin hats, gloves, mitts, with a good selection of local slate gifts such a number/name plates and clocks. All this is backed by an excellent customer service.

We took over a second shop in Ambleside in April 09 due to our ever expanding Internet business, as we needed a dispatching office and storage. Originally we were just looking for a work unit but as soon as the shop came up for sale we had to have it! Our office and dispatching area are located underneath the shop. The shop is now named Cumbrian Sheepskins. It sells a massive selection of Beatrix Potter gifts, the largest and best selection in Ambleside, along with the world famous English Lakes Ice Cream, also gifts, crafts, sheepskins and slippers.
